Planning your day
Whatever your plans for the day, the friendly staff and volunteers at the Visitor Centre will help you make the most of your visit.
The Stour Valley is a great place to bring the whole family. This beautiful three-mile stretch of river, with woodland and meadows, is the setting for nature walks, river and pond dipping, and a wild art club to name just a few of the events and activities.
How long to stay
You can spend anything from a few hours to the whole day down on the Stour. Anything from a simple walk along the river from several access points to taking part in one of our many events held throughout the year.
There are several areas where families can stop and enjoy the river view whilst having a picnic, walk their dogs (there are specific dog priority beaches), fish or look for wildlife.
Our walks leaflet
Take a look at three of our walks suggestions in our latest leaflet. We recommend stopping into the centre to find out what wildlife you are likely to spot on your walk.
Refreshments
You can grab a hot or cold drink, ice creams and snacks from the Centre then relax in the beautiful wildlife garden, or there are plenty of places to stop and enjoy a picnic. Our Visitor Centre accepts all major cards, plus Apple and smart phone payments.
