Work experience

If you are looking for an exciting, variable work placement that is never dull then join us here at Kingfisher Barn Visitor Centre.

You can choose to work inside at the Visitor Centre, learning how it is run, help with events, data entry and pond dipping.

Or, if you prefer the outdoors you can join the rangers as they go about their daily tasks - this involves cattle checks, wildlife surveys (seasonal), scrub clearance, pathways, moth trap, fencing and much more.

You may wish to do both - the choice is yours!

It is worth noting that we do work in all weathers so it is advisable to ensure you have sturdy footwear and wet weather gear.

We are registered on the Schools Database as a work experience provider and can offer placements lasting a week, fornightly or longer if required.

Or if you are looking to complete your DoE with us we can work out a schedule, join with the Junior rangers (all day event run in the school holidays) as needed.
