Volunteer Conservation
Stour Valley needs you. Here's how you can become part of our volunteer conservation teams
Stour Valley Supporters Group (SVS)
Tuesday mornings 9:30am - 1pm

Meet at the Kingfisher Barn and head onto site - tea and biscuits provided at morning break. A fantastic bunch, dedicated to improving and carrying out essential works in the area. Some tasks are hard work but we always try to accomodate the workability of all our volunteers, therefore ligher tasks are always on hand.

North Bournemouth Conservation Volunteers (NBCV)
Wednesday and Thursdays 10am - 3pm

Join this friendly group of volunteers, led by a Ranger, with habitat management work. This is usually things like shrub cutting, hedge laying and tree work in the winter, whilst in the summer, it is usually path work, gates and clearing invasive plants like ragwort or Himalayan balsam. Tea and biscuits provided at break but if staying all day please bring a lunch.

Work takes place across our nature reserves in the North of Bournemouth:
Contact us (or call in to the Centre) to find out more.
Dorset Wildlife Trust (DWT)
Last Saturday of the month 9:30am - 1pm
Members of the Bournemouth and Christchurch volunteer group join the ranger by the Berry Hill end of our site (off Throop Road/Berry Lane, near the Wessex treatment works). Focusing on this part of our Stour Valley site, the volunteers cover a range of tasks including plant and wildlife surveys, rhodedendron removal on Berry Hill, hedge maintainence, coppicing and scrub/invasive plant removal.
